![]() Oh well, like I said.onwards and upwards.hmmm, a little thought just popped into my head. Too bad, I spent years collecting my favorites, and I nurtured them through 5 computer changes. So, my lovely little calendar is back, and I can use the program temporarily to cycle my personal photos through.Smile deleted all of my Pro shots albums when it did it's little wham-bam to my computer, (I feel like my privacy was invaded) so those are gone now. 1, I know they will do something diabolical like send out a net-wide "kill" order for webshots installed on our computers, like their "smile" program did when it automatically destroyed my webshots and installed itself without any how-do-you-do! Very intrusive and not well-thought out method of changing us all over. I uninstalled Smile, and re-installed webshots and I have my calendar back now. Thanks Stewart for putting this group together. So, upwards and onwards we go.at least we're doing it together. So much change in the world, it was nice knowing Webshots was always there for us. I too am having withdrawals.when you come to know and love something and then "poof" it's gone, it's a hard thing to come to grips with. So if the files have been moved from that folder or if the folder itself has been moved, the Smile application won't work properly. One thing Penny mentioned is that the data file goes into the "My Pictures" folder. So that is unfortunate.Ĩ7hawkeye edited this topic 112 months ago. It doesn't have the calendar option, of course. See the topic "Webshots-like Screensaver" for a link to one that another use has used. Smile and Webshots will not work together since the new owners want you to use their software. I uninstalled Smile and reinstalled Webshots Desktop, and it works just fine now. For me it was the Friendships, not really about the photos in the end. I am slowly feeling a tad better than last week, but still upset in what transpired with our Webshots. If you come up with any answers and solution, would love to hear about them if that's okay. I have checked on Google for 'Best Free Wallpaper Changers' and there are several, but I am not a Techie so I will need help from someone to walk me through it. That is my worry in not being able to do so. The next thing is trying to secure the WS Launcher. First need to unzip the albums and rename the albums. The next important thing is trying to keep the Original Webshots Launcher to rotate the photos. I need a little help how to unzip all those 870 files of glorious photos shared by friends on WS. Plus I have removed the WS Desktop Launcher and put it onto my Desktop as well. I have copied all the other Wallpaper Photos I had downloaded since 2000 to my own Desktop. Since I removed my own personal albums - 39 albums - I haven't gone back to Webshots. This is exactly what I am concerned about. Is there a way to keep the old Webshots Desktop, instead of the new Smile Desktop ?Īs I could do much more with the Webshots Desktop.like adding new wallpapers. Since I only used Webshots Desktop to cycle my own game wallpapers,Īnd never used it to download wallpapers.I am wondering. Since I still have the Webshots Desktop installer, I tried to re-install Webshots Desktop.but as soon as it is installed, Smile Desktop will un-install it again, and install itself. This morning, when I booted my computer, Smile just all of a sudden un-installed Webshots Desktop, and installed the crappy Smile Desktop.
